THE free public screening of the participating films for the Zamboanga Film Festival 2017 is still ongoing at the Cinematheque Zamboanga, City Hall Information Officer Belen Sheila Covarrubias said.

Covarrubias said the festival will run until February 24, with screening schedules set at 9 a.m., 12 noon, 3 p.m., and 6 p.m.

She added the Zamboanga Film Festival 2017 will culminate on February 24, for the Awards Night to crown the festival winners.

The information officer said it will be held in tandem with the Local Achievers’ Night 2017, an annual recognition program for outstanding Zamboangueños who have demonstrated exemplary performance in their respective fields.

Covarrubias said the awarding ceremonies for both the film festival and Local Achievers’ will be held at Centro Latino at 7 p.m.

The highlight of the month-long Dia de Zamboanga activity will be the 80th Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga Grand Civic Military Parade and the Commemorative Program on February 26.

The parade will kick off at 3 p.m. from the Zamboanga Fire Station to Paseo del Mar.

Keynoting the Dia de Zamboanga program will be Philippine National Police Director-General Ronald Dela Rosa. (Bong Garcia/PR)
