Waterline extension project launched in Silay

A WATERLINE extension project seen to benefit about 1,500 households was launched in the three phases of Bonbon Village in Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City, last February 10.

The waterline project consists of pipe laying transmission and distribution pipelines with an estimated length of 7,000 meters.

It will also cover drilling of deep well and construction of pumping station facilities and appurtenances.

The project was initiated by Silay City Water District in coordination with the Bacolod City Government.

Estimated project cost is P10 million. It will be sourced from the savings of the water district, particularly under its Internal Cash Generated Fund.

City officials headed by Mayor Mark Golez, officials and personnel of the water district headed by Board chair Carmen Flor and general manager Jose Luis Ledesma Jr., and village officials led the ceremonial launching.

The activity was also attended by residents of Barangay E. Lopez.

The realization of the project is part of the strategic plans and programs aimed at providing safe water for the waterless and marginalized residents. (PR)
