Phoenix eyes 50 more stations

DAVAO-BASED independent oil company, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., is eyeing to put up 50 more gasoline stations nationwide in 2015.

Ben Sur, corporate affairs manager of Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., said Friday that if the plan pushes through, the planned 50 more stations will bring the total to 505 by yearend.

The oil firm opened 55 stations from January to June, this year, of which four are located in Lanang in Davao City, Tagum City, Osamiz City, and Kidapawan City.

Sur said the firm's target per year is to put up 100 stations around the Philippines.

"Recently, we have just acquired over a hundred of delivery tankers imported from China and it is already ready for deployment to other areas in the Philippines. This will complement our operation and capacity to deliver our products to all our customers and stations," he said.

He said the oil company has intensified its massive expansion plans to compete with bigger players in the oil industry.

"At the moment, we are still expanding. We are doing it every year. Our target is 100 stations yearly. We are now on our 10th year of operation, and we are happy that we are expanding rapidly," Sur said.

At present, Phoenix has a total of 455 Phoenix stations nationwide, 227 of which are located in Mindanao, 65 in Visayas and 163 in Luzon.

Phoenix is set to conduct its annual sports fest dubbed "Phoenix Extreme Quest" Saturday at Northcrest Resort in Cabantian, which will be participated in by over 800 Phoenix employees in Mindanao. (ASP)
