SOME 700 participants are targeted to attend the three-day Davao Investment Conference (Icon) on July 20 to 22 this year at the SMX Convention Center, Davao City.

The conference is spearheaded by the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc (DCCCII).

Davao Icon, which was originally founded in 2011 and 2012, went on a hiatus and was revived two years ago. The Davao Icon 2015 primarily discussed trends and developments of the real estate industry giving investors a view of the booming industry in Davao City.

“We are very excited and looking for a bigger Davao Icon this year. We are trying to target 700 participants. We are hoping that there will be foreign investors and participants who will come. With your help, we are looking forward to achieve that target,” said DCCCII President Ronald Go, adding that achievement of the target attendees will help in the Davao City’s economic growth.

For the previous years, target attendees for the said conference are only around 300 to 500 participants from different parts of the country.

“With all the opportunities and these situations that we are now faced with, it’s high time that we also do our part to get the ball rolling and keep on moving,” he said.

Davao Agri Trade Expo

Another big event that the Chamber is looking forward to this year is the 19th Davao Agri Trade Expo (Date) with the theme “Building Local Products for the Local Community”.

The expo will be held on September 21 to 23, still at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier in this city.

“This will surely live up to its expectation as the biggest agricultural expo in Mindanao, bringing brilliant minds from four corners of the globe to discuss the latest technological innovations and breakthrough that will enhance efficiency and productivity of the said sector,” Go said.

Go added there will be a wide showcase of products from the livestock, poultry, hogs, fowls, and aquaculture industries.

The signing of the memorandum of agreement by partners for date was done on Thursday, February 23, during the 1st Quarterly Business Encounter and 2nd General membership meeting of DCCCII held at the Royal Mandaya Hotel.
