PRESIDENTIAL Assistant for the Visayas Michael Lloyd Dino challenged Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña to bring in investors who are willing to purchase the remaining lots at the South Road Properties (SRP) at P110,000 per square meter.

If the mayor is successful in bringing in one after one month, Dino said he will leave Cebu as what Osmeña wants, and to transfer to Davao.

Dino said that the Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) announcement to rescind the contract with the City Government for the 19.2-hectare SRP lot they purchased came after Osmeña said that there are investors who are willing to purchase the lot at the price he set.

“I want to point out that in order for us to untangle the impasse about this SRP issue, I would challenge him. This all started because he claimed that the value of the lots there is at P110,000 per square meter. Let's give him one month,” he said.

In his news conference last Wednesday, Osmeña told Dino to “alis diyan (go away)” after the latter described the mayor as “a bully, anti-business and anti-poor.”

Dino said that he would ask FLI and the consortium of Ayala Land-Cebu Holdings Inc. and SM Prime Holdings Inc. to give back the parcels of SRP lots they purchased in 2015 if Osmeña can present an investor who is willing to buy the lots at P110,000 per square meter because it is something good for Cebu.

But if Osmeña fails to do it in 30 days, Dino said then the mayor should know who ought to go away.

Meanwhile, Talisay City Mayor Eduardo Gullas urged FLI to invest in his city after the development in Cebu City.

Gullas said that Talisay has enough properties large enough to match what FLI wanted to buy.
