SUPPORTERS of President Rodrigo Duterte in Bacolod City will join the national-coordinated pro-Duterte rallies on the 31st anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution on Saturday.

Negros Island Region (NIR) Team Duterte spokesperson Archie Baribar told SunStar Bacolod on Thursday that their activity will show support to the present administration.

They will assemble at 2 p.m. at the Bacolod Government Center for the motorcade that will start at 3 p.m.

From the Government Center, the motorcade will traverse the major areas of Bacolod. Last stop will be at the Kilusang Pagbabago-NIR headquarters on BBB-Galo Streets, where a program will be held.

Baribar said the activity aims to thank the president, and to call for the continued support of his supporters while he is leading the country.

“There is no commemoration of the Edsa revolution because we do not want to be identified as one of the Yellow forces,” Baribar said. “Our activity will also unite all Duterte supporters in the local level.”

The Bacolod-based lawyer is also the spokesperson of Kilusang Pagbabago-NIR, a group that helps in the information dissemination from the grass roots level about federalism, which is the thrust of the Duterte administration.

Baribar said: “Anti-Duterte forces are making a move to frustrate the will of the people and they are moving heaven and earth to destabilize the Duterte administration. We will not allow that to happen. Through this nationwide and globally-coordinated mass mobilization, we will show the power grabbers that they cannot succeed because President Duterte has the support of majority of the Filipinos.”

“President Duterte has the full trust and confidence of the Filipino people. We call on all pro-Duterte forces, our allied groups and other patriotic organizations to join us in expressing our support to President Duterte and his administration,” he added.
