Fil-Chi group to donate classrooms to Sto. Tomas

SANTO TOMAS -- As its pilot infrastructure program, a Filipino-Chinese group in Central Luzon is donating a school building to an elementary school in this town.

The Amity Club Central Luzon is a Filipino-Chinese group which provides assistance to the people of Central Luzon such as medical and dental missions and relief distribution activities.

Led by its president Eddie Co, some of the members of the group personally visited Mayor John Sambo of this town recently to express their desire to provide help for Tomasians.

“We wanted to provide even a small help for the youth because Amity Club strongly believes that education is always the key to success,” Co noted.

He added that as its pilot program, the organization will donate a two-classroom building which can be utilized by school management for the students' learning.

Sambo, meanwhile, said that he and the school principals in town agreed to grant the new and soon-to-rise building to San Vicente Elementary School here.

The mayor also expressed his gratitude for the initiative and generosity of Amity Club to Santo Tomas town.

He disclosed that it is not the first time that the organization extended its helping hands to their community and cited the medical and dental missions they have sponsored.
