City High hopes to sustain lead against Iponan today

CAGAYAN de Oro National High School (NHS) guns for its third-straight win against Iponan NHS on Saturday, February 25, in the 1st Cagayan de Oro Public Schools Basketball Challenge high school boys division at West City Central School covered court in Cagayan de Oro City.

City High paced bracket B with a 2-0 start last weekend.

In their previous outings, the City High dribblers thrashed Carmen NHS, 89-50 in the opener and followed it up with an 81-51 dumping of Tablon NHS last Sunday.

Carmen NHS takes second place with a 2-1 card, while Tablon occupies third at 2-2.

Iponan NHS is in fourth with 1-1 but will be in uphill climb against the heavily-favored City High at 11 a.m. Saturday.

In bracket A, Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS) Cavaliers try to bounce back from their back-to-back losses as they face Kauswagan NHS at 10 a.m.

It was MOGCHS’s worse performance compared to their previous outings in the other league where it fared well in the Oro Speed Inter-Public School Basketball Tournament.

The Cavaliers shared last place with Indahag NHS, both winless in their two outings.

Kauswagan, on the other hand, tied at second place with Canitoan NHS at 1-1.

In high school girls level, Carmen NHS and Canitoan NHS square off at 12 noon.

In elementary boys, host West CCS duels South City Central School in today's game opener at 8 a.m.

In the next game, PN Roa Elementary School takes on Pagatpat Elementary School at 9 a.m.
