A RETIRED member of the defunct Philippine Constabulary (PC) died in an accidental firing in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Friday, February 24.
The Zamboanga del Norte Police Office identified the fatality as Alfredo Regala, Jr., 74, a retired constable.
The police said the incident occurred around 7 a.m. Friday in the village of Minaog, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
Investigation showed that Regala was cleaning his caliber .45 pistol that accidentally went off hitting the victim in the chest, the police said.
