All that jazz

THE 8th Bacolod Jazzfest was held on February 17 at the La Proa Ballroom of L’ Fisher Hotel. Frontlined by the Jazz Society of Negros, the event featured four bands, including Bacolod's very own, The Projects, with followed by Swedish national artist Anders Paulsson, Working Stiff (Manila’s premier jazz fusion Band), and the A.M.P. Nonet, featuring Kat Agarrado on vocals.

Enthusiasts were delighted to enjoy jazz in its many forms. There was jazz/pop/hiphop mix by the Projects to Anders Paulssons's classically influenced jazz voicings to jazz/fusion excursions by Working Stiff then highlighted by the Big Band sound of the A.M.P. Nonet and Kat Agarrado.

The Jazzfest had something to give to everyone, from the young to the young once, that’s why the concert has become a most-awaited event annually. And for this year, they were not shortchanged. A new generation of jazz musicians have come to the fore.
People stayed from 6:30 p.m. until way past midnight, enjoying live jazz played by local and international artists.
