CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region (PDEA) Central Luzon office arrested 10 suspected drug personalities, which resulted in the seizure of 200 grams of shabu in a series of anti-drug operations in Pampanga, Tarlac and Bulacan on February 23 and 24, 2017, respectively.

On February 24, around 8:00 p.m., PDEA agents conducted a buy-bust operations in Villa Classica Subdivision, Barangay Alasas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, which resulted in the arrest of two drug suspects and seizure of 50 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P240,000.

PDEA-Central Luzon Regional Director Juvenal Azurin identified the suspects as Ceferino De Dios, 41; and Rusty Manlutac, 39; both residents of Barangay Alas-as.

On February 23, simultaneous buy-bust operations in Bulacan and Tarlac were also carried out by elements of PDEA.

The drug sting in Bulacan transpired around 5:30 p.m. in Northridge, Subdivision, Barangay Sto. Domingo, City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, which resulted in the discovery and dismantling of a drug den and arrest of five drug suspects identified as Rowena Querol (drug den maintainer) alias Menang, 35; Analiza Reyes,36; Melani Abalo, 45; Robert Escanela,26; and Victor Briguel, 24; all residents of Barangay Sto. Cristo.

The arrest of the five suspects yielded one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu weighing 100 grams with an estimated street value of P480,000, assorted drug paraphernalia and cash money worth P5,100.

Meanwhile, the anti-drug operation in Tarlac transpired at 9:00 p.m. in F. Tanedo St., Barangay Poblacion, Tarlac City, Tarlac, which resulted in the arrest of three drug suspects and seizure of 50 grams of shabu.

In a report submitted to PDEA Director General Isidro Lapeña, Azurin identified the suspects as Yahya Malang, 23; Liklik Markakim, 20; and Normaliah Datuon, 21.

“These anti-drug operations were the product of joint effort with PNP and other intel units during our case build up,” Azurin said.

The suspects are now detained in PDEA Jail Facility in Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Charges for violation of sections 6 (maintenance of drug den), 7 (visitor of a drug den), 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia) and section 15 (use of dangerous drugs) Article II of Republic Act 9165 are being readied for filing in court.
