Palos drops to 5th, Davao teams slump

FROM fourth Friday, Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club (RPVGCC) dropped to fifth in Aviator division as other Davao City teams slumped at the close of the 31st Philippine Airlines (PAL) Senior Interclub here Saturday, February 25.

Palos players Deo Cura (42), Faisal Samanodi (40) and Randy Cadiogan pooled 117 points in fourth round for a total of 474 points while Manila Southwoods surged ahead with 506 points to capture the crown behind fourth day joined output of Jose Roy III (45), Daniel Samaniego (42) and Vicente Maria Bautista (39).

Alta Vista Golf and Country Club (502) grabbed the runner-up honors while Riviera Golf (498) and Fil Am Hawaii (481) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 24-team category.

Lanang Golf Club, which garnered 431, landed 11th as Robert Te (34), Bong Belen (32) and Dennis Salvador (27) submitted a final day total of 93.

Apo Golf and Country Club took the ninth place while Davao City Golf Club occupied the 11th spot in Founders division dominated by Orchard Seniors Team. The latter scored 545 including the fourth round heroics of Ryan Abdon and Luis Miguel Garcia who made identical 46 points while Chito Servida added 45.

Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club (525), Manila Golf and Country Club (522), Valley Golf and Country Club (521) and Cebu Country Club wounded up in the top five of the division that attracted 19 teams.

The Sportswriter title went to Iligan Golf and Country Club while Lumbia Golf Club emerged champion in Friendship division and Fil Am Hawaii annexed the International division crown.
