MINDANAO artist Rey Mudjahid "Kublai" Ponce Millan will receive this year's Datu Bago Award, the highest award the City Government gives to a resident who has contributed to its development. Along with him is journalist Amalia Bandiola of the Mindanao Times.

The Datu Bago awardees are recognized for their outstanding, exemplary and selfless contribution to the growth and development of Davao City through its greatest resources, its people, and for their invaluable contribution to the preservation of the Dabawenyo culture and heritage.

The Datu Bago Award is the highest award that the Davao City government bestows on its constituents.

The 47th Conferment of Datu Bago Awards 2017 will be one of the major events during the celebration of the 80th Araw ng Davao.

It is set on March 15, at The Royal Ballroom of Royal Mandaya Hotel, Davao City.

President Rodrigo Duterte will be the keynote speaker during the Awards Night. (PR)
