Quijano: Holding out for more

I'M just as clueless as you guys as to who will be Manny Pacquiao's next opponent.

This week, Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz revealed that they are in the process of finalizing a deal that coud bring the Pacman to Dubai to fight Amir Khan.

So what happened to the proposed matchup with Jeff Horn in Australia?

Horn's promoter Dean Lonergan insists that the offer remains on the table for Manny to fight on April 23 at Brisbane.

RATIO. Let's call a spade a spade. It all boils down to the risk-reward ratio.

At age 38, it's all about making hay while the sun shines. I'm not expecting another serious run for the pound-for-pound throne.

In terms of risk, I would give Khan the edge. He's more experienced, and knows Manny quite well having sparred with him for quite some time under Freddie Roach's avuncular tutelage.

Horn is largely untested, and from what I've seen has a swarming, brawling style which meshes perfectly with the Pacman's sharpshooting prowess.

But he's never been knocked out and durability seems to be his calling card.

On the other hand, as accomplished as Khan is- having beaten the likes of Zab Judah, Marcus Maidana, Devon Alexander, he's been knocked out twice in the last 4 years by Danny Garcia and Canelo Alvarez. So we don't really know how much he has left.

Obviously, the fact that Manny's team has been entertaining the Khan option despite having a confirmed deal on the table in the Horn fight means there is the possibility of a greater financial reward.

Risk-wise I don't see either fighter beating Manny, so the bottom line is all about the moolah.

Manny isn't anymore the pay-per-view draw that he once was, and he can't fight as often as he wants to, so I can't blame his handlers if they want to squeeze out as much as they can in terms of guaranteed prize money.

VERBATIM. "The Georges St-Pierre now would be the Georges St Pierre that was the greatest of the time that he used to compete. So I can’t wait to go back in there and show the people, including myself, to test my skill and see how everything goes.
