Alta Vista dominates Aviator Div. of PAL golf

THE Alta Vista Golf and Country Club (AVGCC) fired 128 in the final round to ink a come-from-behind win in the Aviator Division of the Philippine Airlines Senior Interclub, which wrapped up last Saturday in Davao City.

The Cebu-based squad finished with a total of 502 and was a point ahead to the third round leader Manila Southwoods. Riviera Golf came up with 498 for third place.

The AVGCC capped off the tournament, scoring 128 in the fourth round at Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club led by Ramon Sebastian’s 44 points.

Sebastian also topped scored for the team in the third round with 42 at the Apo Golf and Country Club.

Manila Southwoods actually led going to the final round with a total of 380 (125, 126 and 129) after three rounds. AVGCC (126, 129 and 119) was trailing by six.

But AVGCC delivered in the fourth round with 128, while Southwoods scored only 121, the team’s lowest score in the tournament.

Giving Sebastian the needed boost in the fourth round was Roy Damole who had 43 and Emir Abutazil who added 41 after counting 36 in the third.
