BIR launches 2017 Tax Campaign Drive

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO--The The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue Region (RR) No. 4, officially launched its 2017 Tax Campaign Drive over the weekend at Kingsborough Convention Center capitalizing on the need to mobilize sector support for the payment of taxes.

The event was led by Regional director Jethro Sabariaga and attended by BIR top officials led by BIR Commissioner Caesar R. Dulay.

The launching also featured the participation of different sectors from the youth, accountants and other government and non-government agencies.

BIR RR4 Regional Director Jethro Sabariaga said the event is aimed to mobilize sector support for the BIR programs for this year.

The BIR official presented measures on how the youth can be active partners in the tax campaign programs.

Sabariaga's presentation also discussed the revenue potentials of RR4 as well as the possibilities achieving further compliance among tax payers.

Sabariaga thanked the diligent taxpayers helping in the bill for nation-building. He recognized the assistance given by local government units (LGUs) like identifying and locating taxpayers for the BIR.

He said the tax campaign emphasizes on a well rounded approach were sectors are stakeholders in the collection program.

He capped his message by asking the taxpayers and participants for support for the region’s drive to collect and meet its collection target this year.

The BIR chief underscored the importance of the kickoff activity as the time for everyone to come together and be informed of what the BIR is doing to increase collection of taxes and improve services being rendered.

Sabarriaga said the event is part of the localized information campaigns to encourage taxpayers to pay the right taxes.
