Elderly woman loses P250,000 in jewelry

AN ESTIMATED P250,000 worth of jewelry were stolen by unidentified men inside the house of an elderly woman at Greenplains Subdivision in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, on Saturday, February 25.

Leonisa Picaoco, 84, discovered around 4:30 p.m. that her jewelry were missing.

Police records showed the robbers climbed the wall behind Picaoco's house and entered the victim's room.

The robbers carted away a pair of diamond earrings worth P200,000; a pair of pearl and diamond earrings worth P20,000; necklace worth P45,000; and a wristwatch worth P10,000 all placed inside a cabinet.

Recovered from the victim's room were a gardening tool and a shirt believed to be owned by the robbers. (GYM)
