THE Negros Occidental secondary football team advanced to the semi-finals after topping their bracket in the ongoing 2017 Negros Island Region Athletic Association (Niraa) Meet in Dumaguete City.
They remained undefeated as they outsmarted Tanjay City, 6-0, and San Carlos City, 1-0, during the matches at Silliman University pitch.
Team captain Ervin John Bentic said teamwork and hardwork led to their victories.
“We are very happy to win all of our games especially our match against the Division of San Carlos. They are one of the toughest teams in this tournament so we prepared for them. We doubled our efforts and maximized our communication inside the court,” Bentic said.
“We will give our hearts to bring home the gold medal. We will take it step by step and one game at a time,” he added. (PR)
