THE Office of Senator Panfilo Lacson officially received Monday the formal affidavit of self-confessed Davao Death Squad (DDS) leader Arturo Lascañas who testified before the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs.

Earlier, Lacson said he cannot give any definite date of Lascañas' next appearance until he has in his possession the formal and signed affidavit of Lascañas' confession.

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, for his part, appealed to fellow senators to hear out Lascañas on why he lied during his testimony last year on extrajudicial killings.

"Ang nakataya noong panahon na 'yun na biglaan siyang pinatawag para mag testify sa Davao Death Squad at sa extrajudicial killings ay buhay ng mga mahal niya sa buhay," Trillanes said.

Lascañas last week admitted to being one of the leaders of DDS, a complete turnaround from his testimony last year that the DDS was just a media hype. (SunStar Philippines)
