Simply Shoes opens 1st shop in Mindanao

SIMPLY Shoes, an affiliate of SM Retail, opens its 24th store on Tuesday, February 28 in the newly-launched CityMall in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

The Tagum branch is the store's first shop in Mindanao.

Shoemart Inc. assistant vice president Elizabeth Nathalia Tinio told reporters Tuesday that their aggressive expansion is anchored on Henry Sy's thrust, which is to provide quality and affordable shoes for every Filipino.

"We are very keen on expanding our networks in the country. By 2018, we target to reach 100 outlets," she said.

By the end of 2017, Simply Shoes will reach some 50 outlets nationwide.

"We chose Tagum as one of our expansion areas because it is a developing city," she said.

For Mindanao, after its Tagum branch, the shoe affiliate will penetrate the emerging areas of Bulua, Cagayan de Oro, Dipolog, Ozamis, Zamboanga and Surigao this year.

The footwear industry, Tinio said, is a growing and thriving industry triggered by the evolving want of the Filipinos.

"Everyone wants something new, it is an advantage to us, it is something we are willing to offer and supply," Tinio said.

Simply Shoes is a one-stop shoe store offering a wide assortment of shoe selections for women, men, and children. It carries an assortment of over 20 brands.

Apart from shoes it also offers trendy and quality bags.

Simply Shoes opened its first outlet in Batangas last September 2014.
