Duterte 'delighted' with birth of grandson Stonefish

PRESIDENTIAL daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte gave birth to a baby boy named Stonefish on Thursday afternoon, March 2.

Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said President Rodrigo Duterte was happy to know that his daughter and grandson are both in good condition.

"The President is delighted with the arrival of his newest grandson, and he is glad that both Mayor Inday Sara and Stonefish are healthy and stable," Abella said.

"The arrival of the Chief Executive's newest grandson Stonefish strengthens [the President's] resolve to leave a legacy of a Philippines safe and secure from drugs and heinous crimes to future generation of Filipinos," he added.

The mayor delivered a baby boy at 12 noon of Thursday, March 2, through a cesarean section.

Stonefish weighs 2.42 kilos or 5.3 pounds.

In a statement, the Davao City mayor's husband, Manases Carpio, said, "Thank you, Lord, for the gift of life. Mayor Inday Sara is stable and generally fine."

The couple has two other kids named Sharky and Stingray. (SunStar Philippines)
