Operations in Tuburan, Sibonga lead to arrest of 2 suspected pushers

TWO suspected drug pushers were arrested in separate operations in Tuburan and Sibonga, Cebu.

Police seized an estimated P16,400 worth of drugs from the suspects.

In Tuburan, police went to the house of 32-year-old Christian Brigoli in Barangay Poblacion 5 around 7 a.m. yesterday.

They seized 11 small sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 1.4 grams, from the suspect.

If sold in the town, the drugs would have fetched around P12,000, said PO3 Douglas Maravillas of the Tuburan Police Station.

However, based on the estimates set by the Dangerous Drugs Board, the shabu could be worth P16,400.

Denial

Maravillas said the suspect’s wife denied knowing about her husband’s illegal activities.

However, Brigoli is reportedly known in the town for selling drugs. He and his wife are able to raise their two children even though they’re both unemployed, Maravillas said.

Maravillas said they tried to entrap Brigoli before but the latter didn’t show.

Idlas kaayo ni siya, lisod dakpon (He is very elusive, hard to catch),” he said.

The police were armed with a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Hermes Montero.

Most of Brigoli’s customers were teenagers, Maravillas said.

In Sibonga, Ain Jill Batad, 30, was arrested inside a pension house in Barangay Simala around 11 a.m.

Batad allegedly continued her live-in partner’s drug business when the latter was sent to prison.

(Police were still verifying his name yesterday.)

PO3 Benjamin Gerosaga of the Argao Police Station said Batad had been arrested with her lover but she was able to post bail since she was nabbed for possession of shabu and not for selling.
