Health office urged to put emergency clinic at Bacolod center

BACOLOD City Councilor Ricardo Tan urged the City Health Office (CHO) to put up an emergency clinic equipped with medical personnel and emergency kits during night time at the Bacolod Government Center.

Tan said the Government Center is known to everyone as among the most popular and cheapest local tourist, health and recreation destinations.

He said people visiting the area at night time include families, groups, couples and individuals who do certain activities as forms of recreation or to while away their time.

“Notably, persons who are undergoing therapy to fight illness such as diabetes, hypertension, stroke and others are likewise seen frequently in the area," he added.

Tan said that under the situation, free medical services for emergency cases should be made easily accessible to people who would need the same within the vicinity.

The City Council approved a resolution requesting the Bacolod City Police Office to maintain visibility at the Government Center especially at night time.

Tan, chairperson of committee on police matters, who authored the resolution, said criminal elements usually mingle with people to spot their possible victims.

He added that police visibility patrol has proven to drive these criminal elements away, knowing that they could be caught and put behind bars in case they do acts contrary to law in the presence of police authorities.
