Lawyers eye settlement

THE lawyers of Cebu-based businessman David Go Lim Sr. and the family of Philip Pogoy are trying to reach an agreement, following the road crash that killed the fish dealer.

Atty. Sarica Bingal, who is representing Pogoy’s family, said that both parties are talking.

“But no settlement has been reached (yet),” she said.

She begged off from giving further comments about the matter.

Pogoy, 28, was killed after Lim’s sports car collided with his motorcycle on Archbishop Reyes Ave. last Saturday dawn.

Lim’s camp, represented by Atty. Pedro Salva, are praying for a settlement.

“We are at the stage of exploring the possibility of settling the case,” he said.

SPO4 Nelson Jayme of the Cebu City Police Office’s Traffic Section, said that they will file a case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to properties against Lim.

But since they are only a nominal complainant, Jayme said the case will possibly be dismissed, especially if Pogoy’s family will choose to desist.
