CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Contractors in the region who are applying for their Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) licenses are being warned by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) because of a bogus email address (support@dti.ciap.gov.ph) asking contractors to attend ISO trainings as a prerequisite to their PCAB license application.
In the bogus email, a fake PCAB Resolution 434 purportedly signed by all its members and Chairman is also attached. The Resolution requires that PCAB applicants to complete a mandatory five day ISO 9001:2015 seminar as a requirement for the filing of a new contractor’s license.
The PCAB Board has denied the presence of the resolution and the aforementioned ISO seminar as a requirement for PCAB license application.
The DTI Regional Office has also advised contractors to exercise extra caution and verify from the PCAB before undertaking compliance of application requirements.
DTI-Central Luzon Regional Director Judith Angeles clarified that only the AMO and COSH seminars are required when applying for a new PCAB license.
In Central Luzon, there is a PCAB license processing window located inside the regional government center in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Any information regarding transactions related to this scam may be reported to the nearest PCAB window in the DTI-3 office (Tel No. 6259290 or with the PCAB license office at Tel.
