Duterte denies team up with Vilma in 2016

DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte belied reports teaming him up with Batangas Governor Vilma Santos in the 2016 presidential elections.

Duterte, in his television show Sunday, said the news about him running as president with the actress/politician as his running mate is not true.

"False. Dili man ko mudagan pagka-presidente, so walay panahon nga mudagan siya, unless she runs for another ticket, under somebody, but definitely it's not me," he said.

This came after Emmanuel Pinol was quoted as saying that Duterte considers Santos as "a good choice."

"Kana si Vilma Santos, I have not seen her for the last 20 years. I have not talked to her neither I would invite her to be a running mate because I am not running. I am just walking," said Duterte.

He said Pinol never mentioned the name of the actress during their conversations while on a flight back to Davao City.

Duterte also said that reports about having Robin Padilla as campaign manager is not true and that Robin is just a close friend.

Despite his rising popularity, Duterte remains consistent on his stand about seeking for the presidency in 2016.
