A 35-year-old man, believed to be mentally ill, was shot to death by two unidentified men riding on a motorcycle in Barangay Manatad, Sibonga, southern Cebu last Monday afternoon.
Police identified the casualty as Arnel Arnaiz, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
Before he was shot past 2 p.m., the victim chased commuters who disembarked from public utility vehicles and threw stones at them.
Several persons tried to hold him down, but they failed. They left Arnaiz alone.
Later, the perpetrators arrived and shot the victim several times.
Police recovered six empty shells of .45 pistol in crime scene.
