'Drug addict' who wants to surrender shot dead in Davao

DAVAO -- A man was shot dead around 8:20 a.m. Thursday, March 9, in Buhangin, Davao City.

The victim, a 35-year-old construction worker from Purok Mangga, Barangay Buhangin Proper, was believed to be a drug addict who went to the Buhangin barangay hall to surrender on Wednesday, March 8. The captain, however, was not around.

This morning (March 9), while the victim was on his way to surrender again, he was met with five bullets from two unidentified gunmen 500 meters away from the barangay hall. (Via Anna Sotto/SunStar Davao)
