Zamboanga del Norte to host 24th Minbizcon

THE Dipolog Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), in cooperation with the City Government of Dipolog and the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte, is set to host the 24th Mindanao Business Conference (Minbizcon) slated at the ZN Convention Center, Dipolog City on September 2-4.

"This year, we are expecting over 500 top businessmen, policy makers, government officials and industry players in Mindanao and across the country to attend the business conference," Bench G. Tacumba, project director of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) said in an interview.

The conference carries the theme: "Winning the Asean, Gaining the Global Market."

"We are stepping forward to win the Asean, and beyond so we can gain from the huge potentials and opportunities in the global market," she added.

This year's Minbizcon will not only be inviting participants from Mindanao but also from neighboring Asean members and foreign dignitaries.

A year before its silver anniversary, the 24th Minbizcon is co-presented by the Mindanao Development Authority (Minda).

The organizers recently held road shows in different cities in Mindanao like General Santos City, Davao City, Surigao City, Cagayan de Oro City, and Dipolog City.

The Mindanao Policy Consultation 2015, the MinBizCon Roadshow in Davao City, was held last Friday at Park Inn by Radisson.

Among the policy issues and concerns that transpired during the road show are the viability or merits of utilizing solar power for household consumption, avenue for private sector to participate in high level negotiation with the government of China and Philippines, alternative remedies with the importance Of the Positive list System, evaluation for the proposed Sasa port expansion project, look into Mindanao’s mini hydro potentials as source of power, installation of power highway from Luzon to Mindanao, among others.

Last year, the 23rd Minbizcon was held in General Santos City.
