4 shot, hacked dead in NIR

FOUR men were killed in separate hacking and shooting incidents in Negros Island last Wednesday, March 8.

In Bacolod City, Manuel Dato-on, 57 years old, resident of Purok Katilingban, Barangay Taculing was hacked to death by his neighbor Camelo Aboy during a heated argument.

Police records showed that Dato-on hacked Aboy first using a bolo, but the latter was able to hit back.

Polincio Dumdom of Sitio Manumbala, Barangay Camansi, Kabankalan City was hacked and shot to death by Arnel Voluntate in the said village.

Voluntate fled but he was identified by the victim's brother, whom he also shot but did not hit.

In Negros Oriental, a man was hacked to death by his son inside their house in Barangay Hibaiyo, Guihulngan City Wednesday, March 8.

Police identified the fatality as Warlito Arnaiz, 67 years old, who had an argument with his son Jeboy Arnaiz, 30 years old.

The suspect hacked his father after he threatened to shoot him with an improvised shotgun.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the barangay captain.

Still in the same city, Arsenio Daglis Comnaiz of Sitio Mag-ubay, Barangay Mani-ak, was found dead in a rice field with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said an unidentified man, who is a driver of a motorcycle for hire (habal-habal), shot him around 1 p.m. while he was working in the rice field.

Four fired cartridges of .45 caliber pistol were found.
