Drug pusher's 'cohort' killed in Naga City shootout

POLICE killed an alleged cohort of a drug pusher in a shootout in Sitio Upper Sentro, Barangay Langtad, Naga City, Cebu at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11.

Operatives rushed Wilfredo Baricuatro, who was hit in the body, to Minglanilla District Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.

Before the shootout, the team trapped and caught suspected drug pusher Ruben Hontiveros Gabasa Jr., 39.

Baricuatro, 32, refused to surrender and started shooting at the police, who retaliated and hit him. No operative was hit.

Seized from Gabasa were 15 grams of white crystals believed to be methamphetamin hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," worth P50,000.

Police recovered two .45 pistols, a .9mm pistol, five .45 cartridges, and a magazine from Baricuatro. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
