Taft Properties, Hongkong Land to develop waterfront township

METRO Gaisano’s real estate company Taft Properties and Asia’s premier real estate developer and investment group Hongkong Land have joined together to develop a waterfront township in Mandaue City.

The development will occupy a 20-hectare prime property right along the Mactan Channel. This project will further transform Mandaue into a progressive and dynamic city, creating a new landmark that will change the landscape of Metro Cebu.

“This partnership will help jumpstart Mandaue City’s transformation into a dynamic lifestyle hub,” says Jack Gaisano, chairman of Taft Properties.

“With Taft Properties’ local expertise and Hongkong Land’s international experience, this alliance will bring in new standards in design and construction while being in keeping with the local culture and tastes,” Gaisano added.

“We are committed to creating an environmentally and economically sustainable community. The development will create jobs, and provide a significant stimulus to Cebu’s economy,” says Tan Wee Hsien, Hongkong Land head of residential property for South Asia.

“A portion of the development will be allotted for open spaces such as a central linear park, alfresco establishments and a waterfront promenade. Culturally sensitive commercial and recreational development will bring economic and civic vitality to the area.”

Taft Properties shares the strength and stability of the Metro and Pacific Mall chain, both of which form part of Vicsal Development Corp. of Gaisano that has built a formidable reputation for more than 30 years in Luzon and Visayas.

Hongkong Land is one of Asia’s leading property investment, management and development groups.

The Group owns and manages almost 800,000 square meters of prime office and luxury retail property in key Asian cities, principally in Hong Kong and Singapore.
