Bacolod businessman robbed

A BUSINESSMAN lost P70,000 in cash to three unidentified assailants who robbed him at Luzuriaga Street, Reclamation Area, Barangay 13, Bacolod City Friday morning.

Police identified the victim as Alan Derayunan Jr., 30, of Bangga Totong Barangay Felisa.

Inspector John Christopher Masangkay, deputy chief of Police Station 1, said Sunday at about 2:30 a.m. Derayunan and his helper Jason Enojada were supposed to pick up stocks of refined sugar at reclamation area.

When they arrived in the area, three unidentified men approached them and told them to wait for a moment since the delivery of sugar was delayed.

After 15 minutes, the suspects pointed a firearm at them and declared a hold-up, Masangkay said.

The suspects carted away Derayunan’s cellular phone and wallet containing P70, 000 in cash.

Masangkay said the suspects tied the victims with plastic knots and fled on board an XRM motorcycle.

He said the incident was captured by a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera that could help them to determine the identity of the suspects.
