MARK Lubiano scored 26 points and the Rams went on to beat the Lions, 78-72, in the elimination round of the Elite Basketball Club-Cebu City Season 8 at the Visayas Glass Gym last Sunday night.
The versatile big man Lubiano also grabbed six rebounds to lead the Rams in their second win in as many games. Jolou Entrampas and Zion Isobal added 14 each for Rams.
Jon Love Chua made 25 points, while Clint Caritan had 18 in a losing effort for the Lions.
In the other game, Niño Belande tallied 26 markers as the Tigers beat the Eagles, 55-50. Eagles’ Armando de Jesus also had 26 points and grabbed 10 boards, but it wasn’t enough to lift his team to victory.
Big man Vince Ranile and lefty-shooter Joirene Salcedo combined for 37 points to lead the Seahawks in a 74-70 win over Stallions. Ranile had 19 points with nine rebounds, while Salcedo scored 18 to go along with eight boards.
Marvin Plenos top-scored for Stallions with 16, his teammates Anton Libao and Tristan Chu added 11 and 10, respectively.
The Elite Basketball Club caging continues on March 19 as Bulldogs clash with defending champion Panthers; Seahawks takes on Wolves; and Lions slug it out with Eagles.
