Mayor wants ‘equal' gov’t for Fernandinos

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “Dito sa San Fernando, gusto natin pantay-pantay na pribilehiyo sa bawat Fernandino. Walang maiiwanan. Sama-sama sa pag-unlad (In San Fernando, we want equal privileges for every Fernandino. Nobody will be left behind. Everybody will be part of the development).”

Thus said Mayor Edwin D. Santiago of this capital city during the commemoration of the 122nd birth anniversary and unveiling of the historical marker for local hero Vivencio Cuyugan on Tuesday.

Santiago said that he is bound to continue the crusade of Cuyugan in providing equal opportunities to every citizen of San Fernando by informing them of their rights and privileges.

He added that part of his priority programs is to provide quality education for all Fernandino children, diverse job opportunities for the youth, assistance for workers and farmers and benefits for senior citizens, among others.

“Katulad ng ating bayaning Vivencio Cuyugan, gusto natin walang maiiwan dito sa San Fernando. Lahat ng programa ng city government ay nakaayon sa pangangailangan ng bawat isa,” he said.

Santiago said that Cuyugan must be an inspiration to every public official whose heart is really for serving the needy people and fighting for the interest of the majority.

Just like Cuyugan who is identified as the first socialist mayor of the country, every public servant must promote and provide equal opportunity for the people, he added.

“Inspirasyon ko at sana maging inspirasyon ng bawat namumuno ang kabayanihan na ginawa ni Vivenvio Cuyugan para sa tao at para sa bayan,” he said.
