Tom against poll deferment

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña is not in favor of the plan to postpone again the barangay elections. He believes that the drug problem is not enough to postpone the polls. “They should realize that it’s really up to the people. It’s true that there are places where drugs can strongly influence the election like (Barangays) Duljo Fatima, Ermita, Lorega, Calamba but should it be postponed because of these few cases? I don’t think so,” he said. He said delaying the polls for a month or two is enough but deferring it again is not good. RVC
