UC Law to conduct free legal aid

IN CELEBRATION of the law week, the University of the Cordilleras College of Law (UC-COL) will be conducting a free legal aid with free legal services on March 20 to 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Malcolm Square.

Lawyer Rona Estrada Baniqued, UC-COL Barrister's Club adviser said this is part of the corporate social responsibility of the institution to reach the public and to help others who can hardly afford services of lawyers.

Aside from the legal services, there would be also a free notary of affidavits, contracts, and other legal forms to be availed during the two-day legal aid.

The barrister club official urged the public to grab the opportunity specially those who have legal problems and avail of the free services.

Cases involving land disputes, violence against women and children, estafa, illegal drugs, annulment of marriage, legal separation, homicide and murder are among the cases subject for legal aid as well as litigations in court.

Aside from the services, UC-COL has also partnered with other government agencies and avail of the free consultations and other services by Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth and Department of Labor and Employment.

Meanwhile, UC-COL will be also visiting different institutions such as schools, jails, and Bahay Pag-asa in different communities in Baguio City and Benguet next week to render some services as part of their community development programs.
