CITY councilors and the Department of Tourism (DOT) already set to welcome delegates for the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) gathering slated June 10 to 12 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier.
City Councilor Rachel Zozobrado, head of the Airport Reception and SMX Foyer Welcome, Davao PCL Convention Committee, said Monday that the welcoming committee, in cooperation of the Department of Tourism, is all set to welcome the delegates of the Philippine Councilors League 2ND Quarterly National Officers and National Board Meeting and the 2nd Series of the 2015 Continuing Local Legislative Education Program on Wednesday, June 10.
Zozobrado said they will prepare PCL booth in the airport to welcome delegates.
"Ang mahitabo naay booth sa PCL sa airport, naay mga staff na-assign didto, if dili daw busy ang airport, pwede sila mudugang ug dancers sa stand. Twelve ka dancers ang giprepare sa City tourism kay partner man nato sila (What would happen is, there would be PCL booth in the airport, there will be staff assigned there and if the airport is not busy, they can add dancers on the stand. Twelve dancers are prepared by the City Tourism as they are also our partners)," said Zozobrado.
She said there will be a separate exit for guest councilors and assigned vehicles that will deliver them to their respective hotels.
She said the guests will stay at the Marco Polo Hotel and Seda Hotel, among others. The accommodations, she added, are inclusive of the registration fee paid in advance by the councilors.
About 2,000 delegates coming from different areas in the Philippines are expected to attend the PCL.
Celebrities like Alma Moreno, national chairperson of the Philippine Councilors league, and Maybelyn Fernandez, national president, are also expected to come.
Invited keynote speakers to grace the event are City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Governor Claude Bautista of Davao del Sur.
There will also be benchmarking and best Practices Sharing within the Davao City, Davao del Norte and Island Garden City of Samal.
The event is themed "Social Protection and Security towards a sustainable program for Filipino's Rights to Survival, Development, Protection and Participation."
The event will be held from June 10-12 at SMX Convention Center, 2nd floor, SM Lanang Premiere.
