Philippines’ top spikers in Lakawon beach volley

TOP volleyball players in the country will show their talents and assets in Lakawon Island in Cadiz City for the two-day Beach Volleyball

Republic (BVR) on Tour this weekend.

The event will feature 16 teams from Manila, Cebu, Iloilo, Dipolog, Davao, Silay and Bacolod with eight each spread equally in men’s and women’s divisions.

Some of the players joined the press conference on Thursday at I Mart-La Salle, with Deonyson Dy of PD 888.

Competing for the women’s division are BVR-1 bannered by Amanda Maria Villanueva and Maria Beatriz Tan, BVR-2 of Angeline Gervacio and Kassie Gormley, Team Silay Jennifer Cosas and Sheryl Laborte, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos’s Erjane Magdato and Alexa Polidario;

Team Iloilo of Dhannalyn Mae Demontaño and Jackielyn Estoquia, Renefel Lagata and Grace Barrica of Team Dipolog, Rosel Sy and Shaira Lim of Team Bacolod, and South Western University-Cebu’s Therese Ramas and Floremel Rodriguez.

The men’s division include Far Eastern University (FEU)-1 of Ralph Justine Dablo and Joshua Barrica, FEU-2 with Kevin Hadlocon and Jeremiah Barrica, Team Davao of Calvin Sarte and Kim Abian, UNO-R’s Julianmar Perez and Carl Lawrence Pardilla;

Team Bacolod-1’s Deanne Neil De Pedro and Herold Parcia, Team Bacolod-2’s Jonmar Aguillon and Ralph Savellano, Team Iloilo’s Belson Ocampo and Jason Laboyo, and Team Cebu’s Rommel Pepito and Jayson Gabales.

Apart from promoting the natural beauty of the country’s beaches as next sports tourism destinations, the event also aims to further strengthen the sports where Filipinos have great potential to excel in international competitions.

It is presented by Mikasa, Chris Sports, Green Cross, Nestea, Quan and Lakawon Island Resort and Spa.
