BSU, DOST to put up food innovation center

THE Benguet State University (BSU) and the Department of Science and Technology-Cordillera have signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to establish a Food Innovation Center.

The partnership aims to transform technological and scientific concepts into products and enable product innovations and diversifications to maximize value addition in diverse agricultural and fishery resources.

Under the agreement, DOST-Cordillera, represented by regional director Dr. Julius Caesar V. Sicat, will provide a package of technical support, coalesce with other relevant institutions, and designate a focal person who will coordinate and monitor the project implementation and coordinate the formulation of the operations manual.

BSU, represented by its president Dr. Ben Ladilad, will provide building structures and facilities, manage the center, provide counterpart funding for maintenance, and hire the people to run the facility. Joseph Zambrano
