Notorious drug pusher surrenders to police

SANTO TOMAS – A suspected notorious drug pusher from nearby Minalin town voluntarily surrendered to local authorities here recently.

The suspect identified as Arjan Mandap Lopez, 45, turned himself in to this town’s top cop Police Chief Inspector Romwald Basa together with his family.

According to Basa, Lopez is already being monitored by their station after an informant tipped them of his illegal activities.

Basa disclosed that the tipster anonymously sent a text message to Pampanga Provincial Director Joel Consulta through the “Isumbong Mo Kay PD” hotline which was coordinated to them.

He added that the informant revealed the style of Lopez who is allegedly encouraging his workmates to engage in illegal drugs and uses his apartment as a drug den.

“At kapag daw na-hook na sila sa bisyo, sila yung gagawin niya na taga-deliver ng bato (methamphetamine hydrochloride),” Basa said.

Basa also said that Lopez is supplying prohibited drugs here and in Minalin where he is included in the town's drug watchlist.

He added that the suspect is only renting an apartment in Barangay San Matias to entice more prospected drug dependents.

Meanwhile, Basa said that Lopez was immediately referred to the Magalang Rehabilitation Center upon his appearance in the station.

Lopez is now undergoing rehabilitation in the said facility with the support of his family.
