NorMin holds Mutya ng Pilipinas regional search

SIXTEEN of the most beautiful women from different places in Northern Mindanao gathered in a single event to vie for one of the five spots to qualify for the national pageant of the search of Mutya ng Pilipinas.

Held at Centrio Mall’s activity center on Sunday, the Mutya ng Pilipinas Northern Mindanao Regional Search once gain left audience in awe for holding a striking beauty pageant.

This pageant serves as a pre-screening to find deserving women who will represent the region for the upcoming national screening of Mutya ng Pilipinas.

The event started in a sizzling hot production number with the candidates wearing their colorful summer outfits introducing themselves in front of the excited Kagay-anon-crowd. The crowd was even more ecstatic with the contestants wearing their sexy and fashionable swim wear under the beat of Pitbull’s ‘Fireball.’

After parading themselves in their swimwear, the candidates decorated the stage wearing their elegant evening gown created by some of Cagayan de Oro’s local fashion designers: Benjie Manuel, Albert Rivera, Mark Christopher Yaranon, John Mark Magallanes, Boogie Musni Rivera, Juniel Doring, Mavy Cooper de Leon, and Joshua Guibone, all members of the Oro Fashion Designers Guild. The pageant was also graced by the presence of Fabio Ide, a Brazilian-Japanese model and actor, who serenaded the girls with a Tagalog song.

Following that, the candidates’ wits have been tested as they went through the nerve-wrecking question-and-answer portion.

In the end, only five ladies made it as finalists who will qualify for the national screening of Mutya ng Pilipinas. Candidate number 9 Julee Ann Marie Bourgoin, candidate number 6 Nellza Bautista, candidate number 10 Charinna Barro, Gladden Pearl Badajos candidate number 11, and candidate number 14 Glorianne Dane Dumigpe made it through and got the top 5 spots. They are automatically qualified for the national screening of Mutya ng Pilipinas.

“Mutya ng Pilipinas promotes not just true Filipina beauty but also the tourism of the country... and women empowerment.” said Mag Cue, one of the organizers of the event and owner of Mags.(Christian James Andrew Galvez and Patricia Ysabel D. Tabian)
