Joy, Tomas trade drug allegations

CEBU City Councilor Jocelyn Pesquera may file charges against Mayor Tomas Osmeña, who tagged her as a narcopolitician in his social media post for allegedly reducing the City Government’s anti-drug budget for 2017.

In a Facebook post dated March 25, hours after suspended Councilor Jerry Guardo bolted from Team Rama, the mayor wrote about how changes in the City Council would work in favor of the administration.

“In three months I will have council majority. Which means in three months, we will no longer have foolishness like the ex-girlfriend of Mike Rama protecting drugs herself by reducing our anti-drug program to 1/10th its original budget. In three months, you will see the difference,” he said.

Last December, the committee on budget chaired by Pesquera reduced to P5 million the P50 million for the anti-drug campaign for this year. Pesquera has pointed out that they did not slash Osmeña’s proposal, but included only the City’s priorities.

Sought for comment on Osmeña’s post, the councilor texted SunStar Cebu: “He is facing himself in the mirror and telling himself that he is a fat liar and the true drug protector. He protected the late (alleged drug lord Jeffrey) Jaguar Diaz. He just had him killed because he was afraid that Jaguar would surrender to the president and tell the truth.”

“He should not make me as an excuse for his failure to curb the drug problem in the city,” she said.
