LEA Salonga said her reunion movie with Aga Muhlach is not happening this year.
In a recent interview, the Broadway star said the actor is too busy living his life away from show business.
"That (movie) is not happening this year. It's not going to happen in 2017. He's way too busy playing golf, traveling the world, checking out really amazing art, and watching his wife run marathons," she said.
Salonga thinks Muhlach should be given time to enjoy life with his two kids and wife, Charlene Gonzalez.
"I think we have to let him live his life for awhile. It may be in 2020... I don't know. We may all be in for a long, long wait," she added.
Salonga and Muhlach did two movies together, "Sana Maulit Muli" in 1995 and "Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal" in 1992.
Talks about their reunion project have been circulating through showbiz grapevine for quite some time now. There were even reports early last year that the movie will push through in 2016 but it did not materialize.
Instead, she did "The Voice of the Philippines" and a Broadway show while Muhlach returned to ABS-CBN and was one of the judges in "Pinoy Boyband Superstar."
Right now, Salonga is gearing up for the new season of "The Voice Teen Edition" alongside Bamboo, Sarah Geronimo and Sharon Cuneta.
The singer said the Teen Edition, a first in Asia, will be more challenging than either adults or kids editions.
"It's going to be interesting. When you have kids, you know you are going to get from day one, nothing much is going to change, same with adults. But with teens, every day is a challenge. Everyday something happens. We all have to prepare for those changes."
Salonga added that she's looking forward to seeing young talents now that they are in the 6th season of "The Voice."
"We're going to be listening to a lot of people in the course of this audition and a lot of times, whatever preparation you make, stuff happen in the room. Nothing could really prepare us but we're all very excited," she ended. (SunStar Philippines)
