DA celebrates end of Women’s Month with programs

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Luzon marked the end of the celebration of the Women's Month this March with dances an aerobic exercise on Tuesday.

With a theme "We Make Change Work for Women", it aims to promote the equality of women based on the implementation of R.A. 9710 of 2009 or the Magna Carta of Women of the Philippine Constitution.

DA RFO III has successfully undertaken the different activities scheduled within a month. This includes the kick-off aerobic dance on February 27, reading inspirational quotes for women every Monday of March, gathering representatives of each agency at GSIS Manila with the theme "We make change: Women inspiring Women Series" and providing lectures for wellness- breast and cervical cancer.

Meanwhile, DA-Gender and Development (GAD) Program with the help of the Philippine Commission on Women led the distribution of IEC materials to each member of the agency that contains information about the Magna Carta of Women on the beginning of the celebration of Women's Month last February 27.

The month of March is an opportunity for women to get the community to know them and let the women know their roles in society, and reflect the rights of women guaranteed under the Law of Magna Carta.

Some of these were protection from violence; participation and representation of equality before the law; equal access and elimination of discrimination in education; and equal rights for all matters regarding marriage and family relationships.
