SunStar Oro Phoneography photo tilt now accepting entries

SUNSTAR Cagayan de Oro Inc. is still accepting entries for its Phoneography photo contest but has set April 15 as deadline for the submission of entries.

The contest, organized in support of the International Women’s Month, started last March 18 right after the one-day Phoneography seminar held at the Grand City Hotel in Divisoria.

Cebu’s top photo journalist Victor Kintanar conducted the seminar for around 25 mobile photography enthusiasts mostly from the local media, government Public Information Office staffs and students.

The theme of the contest is "Women of Cagayan de Oro." All entries should be submitted to the SunStar Cagayan de Oro and SuperBalita Facebook pages.

There is no limit to the number of entries, but the registration is P200 per entry. Just bring your payments to the SunStar Cagayan de Oro office at the Licoan, Velez Street.

Participants in the one-day Phoneography seminar are entitled to two free entries.

Since this is a Phoneography photo contest, all photographs must be taken only by mobile smart phones regardless of brand or model, should only be edited in any editing mobile app, and should not bear watermarks, signatures, frames, or other markings like date and time stamps.

Photos taken with DSLR (digital single-lens reflex), mirror less, point-and-shoot or film cameras are disqualified.

All photos must be taken not before March 18.

Any entry that does not follow the rules will be disqualified automatically without notice.

The criteria for judging are 25 percent for the relevance to the theme, 20 percent for the visual impact, 20 percent for composition, 20 percent for technical excellence, and 15 percent for the total number of likes of your entries in SunStar Cagayan de Oro and SuperBalita Facebook pages.

Anyone interested, first like SunStar Cagayan and Super Balita Facebook pages, then upload your entries there.

Participants will be responsible for any transmission delay, error, and corrupted files while posting their entries.

SunStar Cagayan de Oro employees and their relatives to the third degree are disqualified.

So if you are one of those people who love to take photos using smart phones, the opportunity is here now.

Winning entries will be published in SunStar and SuperBalita.
