P154,500 worth of drugs seized in Negros Oriental

AN ESTIMATED P154,500 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were seized in a drug bust at Purok Anduhaw, Barangay Piapi in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental Monday.

Arrested were Jul Saiyadi Tingkahan, 36, and Almakbul Mudam Hammain, 27, both residents of Zone 2, Barangay Looc, during an operation conducted by joint operatives of Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Public Safety Company, and Dumaguete City Police Station together with agents of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The suspects sold shabu to a police agent for P4,000, and also yielded
three sachets of shabu weighing 10.3 grams.

Before the arrest of Tingkahan and Haamain, Fairy Jeane Mendaje, 34, of Barangay Ajong, Sibulan town was collared by police in a buy-bust at Barangay Looc around 4:10 p.m.

Mendaje yielded a sachet of shabu and the P500 marked money.

It was followed by another operation that led to the arrest of Judy Raja, 44, also of Barangay Looc, who yielded two sachets of shabu and the P500 marked money.

In Bacolod City, Mark Anthony Evidente, 29, of Purok Kaingin, Barangay Singcang-Airport, was collared by policemen in a buy-bust early morning Tuesday.

Police seized from him 12 sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, hand grenade, P300 cash, and the P300 marked money.
