THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-South signed a memorandum of agreement with the Minoro Isabel Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (Miarba) for the provision of economic support services for agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (Arbos) worth P650,000.

The agreement, sealed during the signing rites held in La Castellana town on Wednesday, covers the provision of support for the agency’s climate resilient farm productivity initiative through the replication of its Integrated and Diversified Natural Farming Technology cum Community-Managed Potable Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (CPWASH) project.

It will benefit at least 78 member-beneficiaries.

The agreement was signed by Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Lucrecia Taberna and Miarba chairman Mario Patricio.

“The project will be very beneficial not only to the member-beneficiaries but also to the whole community,” Patricio said.

DAR will allocate the fund for the purchase of construction materials for the farm facilities such as greenhouse and plant nursery, fermentation building, drip irrigation system, biogas digester, iron removal filter, and water harvester tank.

The budget will also cover the conduct of various trainings, the agency said in a press statement.
