IT ISN'T everyday that a couple reaches that fabulous milestone of 50 years of marriage and Mario and Ising Aviles, have successfully done that last June 2, 2015 at Homitori.
They waltzed and sang to their song -- the 1935 hit “I’m In the Mood for Love” and their embrace took us all back in time. When Mama Ising sang the words in her beautiful voice that everyone agrees is equal to Julie Andrews, guests blinked tears of gorgeousness and sentiment and clapped when she swept over his head and kissed Sir Mario.
Sealing the vow they made 50 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Mario and Ising Hernandez Aviles was beaming with pride as they celebrated their wedding anniversary, I had the privilege of hosting the event and I must say, I went teary-eyed in most of the affair, I guess losing my Mom just days back has something to do with it, and wished that they too and my father would have the chance to celebrate their love story as well.
The affair was celebrated with all Mario and Ising’s children and grandchildren in attendance along with close friends and church members from Christ for All Nation Cathedral or Int’l. One Way Outreach. The event was filled with love, praise and worship songs and laughter. Mr. Bobong Aviles on piano filled the room with beautiful songs as Harvey and Friends and grand-daughter Ms. Cara Danielle Aviles rendered surprise numbers to the couple.
From the 20-minute long photo slideshow, to the classy decor, delicious food and open bar, this party was so much fun. Friends gave out speeches that are really inspiring and motivating, Atty. Rod Quiachon, the couple’s spiritual mentor and Ptr. Bryan Franklin Gaitano and Pstra. Dulce Fe L. Gaitano also gave their share of spiritual message.
The couple’s daughter Ms. Birdie Aviles-Nicolas spearheaded the thanksgiving message alongside her siblings; she thanked her parents and all in attendance for their gift of time to be with them in celebrating the 50th year of their parents.

Mario and Ising’s 50th wedding dinner was truly a sight to behold that evening. They took a theme of Gold accessories, and made it theirs by using their own touch with an Oriental twist. Well done, Sir Mario and Ma'am Ising, more great years to you both.
