Cop caught in a pot session tests positive for drug use

THE police official caught having a pot session in Las Piñas City last Thursday has tested positive for illegal drugs, a police official said Friday.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory director Chief Superintendent Aurelio Trampe said Superintendent Lito Cabamongan tested positive for illegal drug use during his initial drug test Thursday night.

"Positive, initial test pa lang. They were subjected to confirmatory test, and result will be known next week pa," he said in a text message.

"Our basis, legally, is the result of the confirmatory test," he added.

Cabamongan was nabbed Thursday morning along with his female companion, identified as Nedy Sabdao, after his fellow policemen caught them in the act of using illegal drugs in Talon 4, Las Piñas City.

Cabamongan, chief of the Crime Laboratory satellite office in Alabang, was the highest ranking police official caught red handed with illegal drugs.

Earlier, Cabamongan denied being involved in illegal drugs, claiming that he was in the area for surveillance as approved by Trampe.

Trampe has denied his claim.

Cabamongan has also been a subject of complaint by a mall twice after he allegedly demanded to see a movie for free.

He is also under investigation for allegedly harassing a policewoman and for dancing naked in public. (SunStar Philippines)
